Ok here goes, hopefully soon like within the next few upcoming months we will have been able to trademark/copywrite ALL of our little images that we doodle all over the house and we will be able to offer Sweet T's brand vinyl decals. Most of the images and products have been trademarked but not all of them and in a world that is every swelling in thieves and trolls we all thought it would be prudent to make sure absolutely everything is covered under our trademark. Which meant we started the long drawn out process all over again.
But while that is happening we are working on perfecting the "doodles" as we fondly call them. And with each pencil stroke and eraser scuff we come one step closer to fulfilling one of my dreams for the store, which was to be able to bring sweets into everyone's life with out all the "health" worries.
And when i reference vinyl decals im not talking about new labels or anything im talking about honest to goodness decals that you can put on your cars, notebooks, computers, ipads/iphones, your sister's mouth...just about anywhere that feature all of our favorite confaketion friends that you have yet to meet, but soon will. As soon as all the trademark hulabuloo is over with we will be able to post up picts of them and their stories on the webpage.
So keep tuning in for updates and remember

Black friday...how did you fare?
Ok with the tides of black friday and small business saturday sales ebbing, but with the on slaught of Cyber Monday sales yet to come i find myself asking two questions.
1. How did you survive? Did you go out into the madness or did you stay home and await for the small business saturday and cyber monday sales?
2. If you went out how did you fare? Did you make a killing in the shopping fields? Or where you one of the poor people who got lost in the tides of people and missed most of the sales?
Personally i stayed home with the husband and kidlets and worked out the sales for both Saturday and Monday as well started working on a few new pieces. But curiousity got the best of this kitten and her family Friday so we all piled into the car and went for a drive.
And oh my goth let me just say one thing, shopping in the real world looks both scary and dangerous! Every store in out hometown was filled past compacity and still more we filing in. It all kind of reminded of me sardines in a can which in turn made me wonder if the stores smelled as bad as the little fishies inside their perverbial can?
Now dont get me wrong i have nothing against shopping or the people who wish to indulge in actual human interaction but when is enough enough? How much can on person or family be expected to deal with before other's actions and attitudes are no longer acceptable? Every year i hear, see, and read were people's attitudes are getting worse and worse. Why? Does it really help the shopping experience if you make someone cry, ruin their experience, or take something they really want that you dont really need just because you want to be a putz?
Its offically the start of the holiday shopping season which means that it the start of the holiday season. A time where we should treat each other with love and respect not anger and malcontent?
So with that rant being said think back to your black friday travels, if any, and ask yourself how well did you fare? Including your attitude towards others.
Remember this holiday season and every day:

Adventures with Resin
Ok so most of yesterday was spent experimenting with resin and what i could and couldnt do with it. And let me just say this:
1. It really smells awful!
2. It can be harder then i thought to get it all poured before it starts to set.
3. Not everything i bought to use with it can be used as an additive which really kind of stinks.
But all in all it was a fun learning experience and i now realize more then ever that i need to invest in a new pair of glasses because i/we also learned that not all resins are created equal, some are crystal clear, some are foggy, and some are opaque white. And unless you can read all the tiny fine print on the box you are liable to get the wrong one thinking its the one that you need for that project...
Oh well what is life with out a few bumps in the road to make us stop and think and well that wasnt what was supposed to happen now was it.
Pictures of the attemted works will be posted later on after the decison has been made as to weither or not they are or arent failures.
Thanks for reading about our adventures with resin and remember

Getting acquainted
There has been so much happening since the candy shop first opened two years ago that it seems as though I have fallen so far behind that catching up in this rat race we call industry seems impossible. But I am determined to share what I create with the people in this world who find it interesting and something they wish to own.
And one chance that I have decided to make is to NOT make a Facebook page for the business. I know there are people out there thinking that I’ve just committed business suicide but I don’t think so. There is a plethora of other ways to promote my little shop and the wares we offer. Any more Facebook is a place for people to air out their dirty laundry and to bash other people and other businesses. And I don’t want any part of that.
The second change that I have instituted is this blog. I thought that maybe this would be a nice way to share random musings that deal with the shop, new items that are being worked on, or just to promote the shop and friend’s shops all together.
So I ask that you please be patient with me as I get reacquainted with the virtual world and whole blogging process. Thank you.
