Just one more change here at the Kandi Store

Ok this isnt one of those oh my ive just had an epiphany and everything is about to change change. Nor is it one of those scary what are they up to now changes. Its more of an addition to be quite honest with you all.

Tee, yes thats right Sweet Tee herself, has decided that she would like to try her hand at writting reviews for all of our favorite products, suppliers, and things of that nature. It should be fun, and we high encourage anyone who follows this blog and the kandi store in general head on over to http://kanditee.blogspot.com/ and follow Tee and her reviews. What could it hurt?  Either you agree with her opinion or you dont, but either way it might help enlighten everyone in to a small portion of what happens here in our sugar coated world.

With that being said there is still a lot that we all have to get done in order to get the storefront(s) filled and orders mailed out. So this ends our chat for now but remember to always

Halloween and shimmery sugary expectations!

With Halloween fast approaching things have been a little crazy here at the candy store. There have been so many new product ideas and so many new design ideas with so little time that it feels as though we are getting no where fast. And all these great Halloween items that are out now do not seem to be helping the matter any.

I (Tee) have always inexplicably been drawn to Halloween with all its history, mystery, and lost sacred tradtions. As well as the brightly colored costumes and decorations and the great tradition was traipsing around my childhood neighborhood begging for candy from neighbors who were kind enough to offer it the galavanting children of the night. Now as I am older and have realized that some of my most favorite parts of halloween can be used to bring others enjoyment and not just myself has made an originary legal pad run into a supply hunt or a trip to the grocery store, after hours of course, has turned into a whirlwind of ideas and inspiration from all the great things put out on display.

With that being said we have been completely and totally busy creating new merchandise for you to ogle over and enjoy, but have not had the time to finish or post any as of yet. But while we are on the topic of new items that are comping into the store. We are hoping that we will be adding crocheting to out repertoire!!
How exciting is that? With the possibility of crocheting an even bigger possibility  of being able to offer newer, cuter, one of a kind merchandise increases threefold!

Keep your eyes peeld for more updates and as always

Wow...

Wow life really has it's ways of catching up with you when it wants to. And the powers to be, what ever your beliefs are, have a way of getting your attention when they need to!

Things have been more then a little crazy here at the Kandi Store for quite sometime. In fact this is the first time in a while that we all can step back, breathe deep, and just kind of relax for a moment or two before we hit the ground running again.

This past weekend we attended a fair that a sister company, the witches thicket, attends every year with great success. It was fun being able to get our products out there and meeting some of our fans, as well as being able to write down some fan based suggestions and to bounce ideas off of fellow artistians.

We look forward to attending other shows in the near future.

Dont forget to check back for store updates, new items, and show schedules. And as always

Resin, Festivals, and Clays ... OH MY!!!

Tis been bustling here at the Kandi Shop as of late. Working on new products, fixing design flaws in the latest ideas, and perfecting what we already have. As well as sorting through convention invitations(we would love to attend them all but we have to be realistic and say no to the ones that are across country or too close to the ones that we are stoked the most to attend. I mean we have families too people and family always comes first), festival applications, and planning booth set ups for everything. We want it to remain fun and laid back as well as looking professional.
Oh the life of a kandi maker is anything but dull. Not to mention the family lives that have been blowing up left and right. Its a grand time to be alive and boy are we making the most of it all.

Some of the changes to come are new packaging and marketing design, finally getting the website up to date and possibly adding a few pictures of the festivities along the way. Its promising to be a good rest of the year with the rate things are rolling along. Even with the bumps, humps, and roadblocks that we have faced along the way, we have kept our integrity, maintained our dignity, and our quality has never faltered.  In fact the more people that oppose us the more inclined we are to make our business and our products that much better.

One of the changes that are already well under way is the new store front. Although the Etsy and Shophandmade storefronts are still open and functional they will be closed by the end of September. So please do not forget to bookmark the new Storefront and check back often as new things are added quite frequently. And if you have a facebook page and havent already and are interested in following what is going on at the Kandi Store more exclusively feel free to like or subscribe to our Facebook Page. There you will be able to receive exclusive coupon codes and deals that you will not find here or on the webpage.

There are many more things underway and we are doing the best we can to keep you up to date while getting these things done for you without getting overwhelmed. And incase you are wondering yes there are that many changes!

Thank you darlings and as always

New items, lost treasures, and time management

Wow a lot has been happening not only for the shop but in many aspects of life as well. Things have been hopping and bopping for quite sometime and they dont seem to be wanting or willing to slow down any time soon. Which makes for an interesting life but high stress levels. And with all this high octane change comes good news and bad news.

I'll start off with the bad news; just to get it out of the way and to get the bumming done and over with. Part of the mass chaos has been a move that has partially taken place. Many things have been misplaced, unintentionally packed away, or inadvertently left behind. But such is life and it happens with almost any move. I just wish that most of the items misplaced weren't items or supplies for the shop. Its entirely disheartening but all can and will be misplaced. So that is where we stand as of now.

Now on to the good news. There are loads of new items being prepared to be available in the shop. Without giving too much away some of the items revolve around bored games(intentionally misspelled board. See its a play on words? Get it Bored games ... oh well now im over explaining this)! The original clay pieces are coming back as well as some newer designs and decoden items. New resin pieces are being designed you are reading this. We are even trying to design a few pieces more pointed towards the male gender of the species lol. So please stay tuned for a post dedicated to that specific topic.

As for the time management part of this post. I have had a number of people ask me what venues will we be found out this year. Well here's the thing that are few local venues that are worth my time, effort, and energy. I will not compromise the integrity or quality of my business by setting up at a venue where the amount of attendees are far less then the amount of vendors. Plus there are too many fly by nighters out there that think their items are the best out there and like to attempt to sling mud. And i am far to mature to participate in mud slinging. I know the quality of merchandise that offer and do not feel the need to try to drag any one else's business down so that mine may prosper.
I allow the general populous to that. They know where the better quality merchandise can be found and are perfectly capable of making either a biases or unbiased opinion of what they like with or without my help. So please do not message me asking if we will be found at this venue or the next. I will post announcing what venue and where we will be located when the time comes.

And that brings us to the end of this update. So remember pay no attention to those who will speak illy of you behind your back. It simply means that they are three steps behind you and in the perfect position to kiss your rear end. Follow your dreams and as always:

A rare rant

These post will not happen often as most of you probably do not care about what i have to rant about but i need to get this thought of my chest or I'm liable to explode!

This rant is about the postal service.
i have had to deal a lot with the US postal services and they are a bunch of sneaky underhanded snooks. Not only are most employees, there are a spare few who are not, snarky as all get out. But the website will tell you one postage price and as soon as you take your item in to send it off they let know that you are a complete idiot and you need to add more. I am beginning to think that this is how they are trying to keep from loosing their foothold in today's economy because i can send something from my house with the postage amount told to me via the USPS website and my little digital scale that a friend graciously sold me and it make it to its determined destination with no trouble and turn around and take another parcel of same width, length, and weight into the office itself and be told that the amount I've posted is insufficient and i need to add more, and its always a lot more then what i believe should be needed.
What gives? Is it because I've come into your realm of glue, stickers, and the ever present smell of masking tape and cardboard that you feel the insatiable need to railroad me with your postage prices? If that's so then how unfair is it to me that i get punished for having a parcel to large for my scale and not having the proper label sheets to print my postage from home? Very unfair is all i have to say about that.
Its no wonder that there are rumors of the USPS being shut down they cant seem to make up their mind as to what they are meant to do. I think it would be cheaper for my husband and i to pack up our kids and all the parcels going out into our car and go drop them off ourselves. We'd meet a lot of new people and see a lot of new places that way. Which could make for some awesome adventures and great stories to tell the grandkids many many many many many many years from now.
I can see it now im sitting on the floor covered in paint, clay, and other various crafting substances when one of the grand kids asks for a story and i look at them and say "well deary did i ever tell you about the time that your granddad and i packed packed a weeks worth of closes, your mom/, aunt /uncle, and about six different letters and made our way to Vancouver Canada?" The looks on their faces alone would be worth the price we would have had to pay for the gas alone.
I dont know i have some pretty random thoughts when places like the post office aggravate me and i start to come up with ways around having to deal with that aggravation.

I think will end this rant here and promise to keep posts like this few and far between. Thank you for allowing me to ramble on and as always remember to

Adventures with resin pt 2

Greetings from our sugarcoated wonderland.

I feel its time for a resin update. It's come a long way since the last adventures in resinland. The candy store is now able to offer one of a kind handcast resin pendants, charms, rings, and things of that nature. And i am super stoked about that.

I've learned so much about resin and casting it as well as perfecting the pieces that i have cast to make them look loads better. And I hope to soon be able to offer a full line of resin pieces as well as to be able to take custom orders.

Ive posted some images of what has been cast so far below. Enjoy and please feel free to comment below.

It's been a while

As the title says its been a while since i have had the time to update everyone on the progress, or lack there of, in the shop.

First and foremost the major reason for lack of updates has been about three months ago the candy store welcomed the newest addition to the family. A baby girl, and she is doing fine and getting big and a little less time consuming so i should be able to update a little more and start posting the new items in the shops.

Which leads to the second reason for lack of updates. I have been experimenting with new mediums and working out new design and product ideas. All of which that i think you will enjoy, or at least hope you will enjoy.

One of the newest product designs are smart phone charms, which will be posted in the storefronts soon. Im actually kind of proud of these. They are super cute and can be used in, as far as i know, all smartphones and even iPads. And my adeventures in the land of casting resin has paid off and the candy store can now offer handcast resin items ^_^. As well as three different type of headbands and a lot more jewelry options.

Another cool updated feature that i am in the middle of working out the kinks in is adding buy now and add to cart buttons provided by paypal on the webpage its self. I hope that will make the shopping experience a little easier and enjoyable for everyone.

There's loads more on the way so stay tuned and as always
